Declared a Royal Forest by William I around 935 years ago, the New Forest is now a National Park and amid the clutter of south of England is a sea of beauty. Many anglers only see the Forest as a blur through a car window, there is little fishing to be had but with rivers such as the Test and Avon skirting it, there is reason to pass through. Its well worth a visit without the rods in the car though. Some spots do get busy, but it is possible to get off the beaten track, kick back and properly breathe
